NEWSHEET April 08
Ivy came into care when she was 6 weeks old. She was underweight, and had problems with one of her eyes. Ivy then had her eyes checked at 9 weeks old, and was getting better. She was a kitten who was full of life, loved a fuss but also loved to bite you. We had Ivy till she was 13 weeks old and I am glad to say that she found a new home where she has calmed down. She has now settled down, and is getting on well with the other cat.
Tinkerbell was a 2/3 years old cat who came to us after being taken to the vets to be put to sleep. Her only crime was that she was not wanted. She was taken in by Lisa and Brian. Our thanks go to them for looking after her. She has now gone to a new home, and as you can see from her photo, she was lovely.
We took in Millie who was 18 months old. She was very shy, and quiet. But she was no trouble, and once she got to know you, she loved a fuss.
Frank and Bruno were two very sweet 13 week old kittens both were lovely and after fleaing and worming both went to new homes.
Smokey and Bluebell came into us at 6 months old, they were both so friendly and loveable and after being neutered, wormed and flead they both went to a new home together. Thanks go to Mr and Mrs King for giving them a new home, and for their donation of £200-00. This will help with our other cats and kittens.
Paddy came into us with poorly eyes, and after some treatment from the vets, he has now found a new home. He was a sweet cheeky little chap.
We did the cat show on the 23rd Feb, and made £360-10. So thank you to everyone who donated things for us to sell, and thanks to Viv, Coral, and Gemma, for helping out on the day. Thanks also go to Pets pleasures for their support. Thank you to Viv for given us a donation from her bingo winnings. Also thanks to everyone else for their donations. Every penny really does help us. We need to try and keep the money coming in, as there are still plenty of cats and kittens that need our help. Setau(Becks)
Now for some sad news. In 2005 we took in a cat we called Becks. It took us a while to catch him as he was having a good life being fed by the butchers, the chip shop, and the pet shop, but we did get him after 3 months. He was very frightened, but after treatment by the vets, we got him well, and the lucky boy was given a new home by Dot. Dot then moved to New Zealand, and took all of her pets with her. Dot had renamed him Setau, and he loved his new home.
You may remember reading some of his stories. He was always getting into things, and went to cat shows, and won prizes. Not bad for a cat that was living on the streets.
Thanks again to everyone for their help and support.
Mary Hunt.
